Today we went up to Sliver lake up at the top of Big Cottonwood Canyon. My parents and Mark and I invited Alisha and her family to join us, so we traveled up there this afternoon and when we arrived at the lake, on the 24th of July weekend, the lake was PACKED!!!! (No surprise there) And so we walked around to the spot where my mom and dad were already set up and fishing.
Now, for those of you who dont know my dad, he can go to a lake that is “skunked out”, and he can catch his limit almost every time! Its been this way ever since I was a child.
So we get there, and they had already caught 5 fish. (He has a favorite spot he likes to fish, says its the “best” spot there, and I agree)
So, within 2 hours we caught 16 fish! It was Wonderful! I am used to getting excited at catching my own fish, but now its all about my kids! Its more fun to watch their excitement! Its so fun to help my kids, and Alisha’s kids to real in the fish, they get So excited and anxious to see if its “a big one”!

This trip Savannah got to set the hook and real in 2 fish ALL BY HERSELF! She was So proud about that!! Man they are getting big!!!

Kiera-Boo had a Wonderful time playing and exploring the forest around us with Carson! Those 2 are such good friends!

Sweet little Carson, Alisha’s oldest boy, found out that catching fish meant killing them, and he did NOT agree with that! Although he did like realing them in! hehe One thing did make him happy, we caught a couple fish that were really small and only lip hooked, so he got to watch happily as they swam back into the lake!

We had a wonderful time with Alisha and her kids, Dayv unfortunately couldn’t make it, he was slacking off at home, doing something he thought was much more important then fishing…..homework!
Good grief, priorities!!! (hehehe)
