OUR 11th ANNIVERSARY
Posted by: BONNIE JEAN
Mark and I are celebrating our 11th year of marriage tomorrow, the 15th of August.

I wanted to share a heart felt poem that I wrote…..but I’m not that good! LOL
So, I thought I would share some songs that help my lack of poetic talent. They help me express how in love I am with my sweet heart Mark. And music is such a HUGE part of who I am, I found it appropriate to express my feelings this way.

The first one is Love of a Lifetime by Lifehouse:

The next song I want to share is Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol:

Mark and I have been through so much together. Not everyone would have been able to stick together through all that we have been through! But that is what makes it special, … when hard times come, when health starts to deminish, when stress overwhelms us to the breaking point, we cling together even tighter!

Marriage these days is really viewed as something that is “disposable”. “If this one doesn’t work out, I can always try again.” NO!!!!!
Marriage is always going to be something you have to fight for together! Its never going to get to a point where your “safe” from hardships! I have heard people say “Oh, if you make it to 5 years, then your good.” or 10 years. NO!

What I have found is that c o m m u n i c a t i o n is the key to working through all of the hiccups in a marriage! If you can constantly try to keep communication open, have discussions about EVERYTHING! Like: work, frustrations, dreams, sorrows, stress, etc. If you can communicate with the knowledge that both of you are ‘Equals’, and that neither one of you should be “parenting” the other then that will help discussions be more productive! Also you should treat each other with respect and love in all your communications.
That is really a HUGE key to keeping a marriage together!

The book “Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus” by Dr John Gray is really truly accurate when he says that each gender speaks their own language! And I have found we both have to try, and keep trying to understand the language of our spouse!

Dr John Lund made a CD that is a seminar on Communication. Its called: “For All Eternity”. If you have not listened to it, GET IT and listen to it!
It has been a Great tool in helping us keep our communication with each other open, and respectful!
“For All Eternity” is WONDERFUL! And its hilarious! I think that EVERYONE should listen to it! Married, or not married! It is such a great tool to communicating better!
So, for anyone interested, here is where you can buy it:

Special Note to Mark:
Thanks for putting up with me! Your wonderful and more then I deserve! I am honored to spend Eternity with you!
