Public School
Posted by: Mom
We’ve had a bit of turn of events as far as schooling goes.
And here is how it all started:
Savannah has a friend down the street who told her that “4th grade is the FUNNEST time to be in public school!”
And that stuck with Savannah.
So she has been talking all this year about wanting to try public school for 4th grade.
Well, she has talked about it enough for me to know it wasn’t just a thought to her, it was something she really wanted to try.
So, I called the principal at the local P.S. (Public School) and we worked out a day to go and observe each class to see if it was something we wanted to try.

So we went to the school today and sat through parts of the 3rd grade class, and the 1st grade class.
Savannah was Totally Excited about it as we were leaving the 3rd grade class room. I felt Great about the teacher, about what they were doing etc.

We went into the 1st grade class and watched. Kiera was excited, she watched their “Centers time”, where they get to go table to table to play a game or do funner little things. So she was stoked! But I didnt feel the warm fuzzies that the 3rd grade teacher gave me. I have NO idea why.

So, they were both begging to start tomorrow, which actually shocked me as far as for Kiera goes. She’s never wanted to before, so it took me off guard.

So, tomorrow is their first day at public school…. I’m the one with separation anxiety now! hahaha

I may end up crying as I take my girls to school tomorrow…. but I think on a whole it will be a good experience for them. Even if we dont do public school every year, I feel it will be good for right now.
